What is HTML?

HTML, or HyperText Markup Language, is like the building blocks of a webpage. Imagine a webpage as a digital storybook, and HTML is the language that helps create and organize the pages, pictures, and words in the book.

In simpler terms, HTML is the special code that web browsers, like Chrome or Safari, understand. It tells them how to show the information on a webpage, such as where to put headings, paragraphs, images, and links.

Just like a book has chapters and paragraphs to make it organized and easy to read, HTML helps organize a webpage so that you can easily find and read the content. It's the foundation that allows the internet to show information in a structured and appealing way, so we can enjoy and learn from the vast amount of information available online.
