Example Themes & Projects
Vertical Farming
AgTech
Students will learn about the innovative technologies at the heart of vertical farming. They will build a coding project simulating growing conditions, including plant arrangement, humidity, air temperature, energy use and other scientific and economic factors. Students will experiment with different combinations of these factors to optimize their yield and energy efficiency.
Smart Manufacturing
Robotic Assembly Lines
Students will put on their engineering hats and learn about the role of an industrial engineer. They’ll code a project where a user operates an assembly line staffed by robotic workers and needs to account for factors like efficiency, quality control, and waste reduction.
Sustainability
Environmental Engineering
Students will study the field of sustainability and the creative solutions that environmental engineers use to solve problems. They’ll develop a coding project that centers around a unique river cleanup invention named Mr. Trash Wheel, starting with basic gameplay and then adding more elements to improve the invention or make the solution more realistic.
