Follow Your Child’s Progress With Coco Levels

In Coco Coders lessons, students don’t just follow along and build games - they really learn how to code. We teach them core coding concepts across multiple coding languages, as well as broader skills like problem-solving and collaboration that will be essential in the high-tech world of the future.

Every student is assigned a Coco Level that indicates how close they are to mastering their current coding language - block-based Scratch or text-based Javascript - and they move up to higher levels as they attend more lessons and practice their coding skills.

Coco teachers assess their students on a number of different aspects, including:

  • Mastery of coding concepts (such as loops, functions, and events)

  • General tech proficiency, such as typing and mouse skills

  • Core skills, like problem-solving, communication, and collaboration

Our Coco Levels help children understand how they’re progressing, but also mean we can keep children challenged at just the right amount for their level of skill.

When your child first starts lessons with Coco Coders, their teacher will assign them a starting level, based on their work in their first project. After that, we’ll let you and your child know every time they advance to a new level.

In addition to advancing their Coco Level, students also earn badges in every lesson, including badges for the different concepts they’ve learned, and which theme projects they have completed.
