What happens if you miss a lesson?

Life is busy, things get in the way.

It’s absolutely fine to miss a lesson from time to time, especially if it’s for a vacation!

We teach coding through a ‘spiral curriculum’, where core concepts are covered again and again in many different ways and in different projects. This helps to build students’ understanding, helps them remember key ideas, and helps them develop their skills by applying them in a variety of situations.

This also means that, if your child misses an occasional lesson, they won’t miss out on any new concepts that they won’t cover again in the near future.

If you miss a lesson, we will also send you a recorded version of that lesson, so that your child can catch up on the project and the key learnings. You don’t even have to let us know beforehand…if your child isn’t in class, we’ll automatically send you the recorded lesson.

Either way, their teacher will make sure they’re all caught up at the start of the next lesson. We share starter code each week for students who have missed the previous lesson, so they won’t be left behind the rest of the group.
